Wonderful day of travel to Nimes, at the heart of Languedoc with Protestants at 17% of the population and a long history of the faith – and bullfights! Also, the source of denim (de Nimes) for Levi Strauss and his blue jeans bonanza.

Sabbatical Day 65 – 17th Day of Ordinary Time – Arles, France
We spent day acquainting ourselves with ancient Arles, our home away from home (top right corner of apartment facing the river). A wonderful city with charm and quiet.

A good day spent in Vieux (Old) Lyon walking the streets once trod by Peter Valdo, founder of the Waldensian spiritual movement.
Sabbatical Day 62 – 14th Day of Ordinary Time – Geneva, Switzerland
Good day touring Geneva, the museum on the history of the reformation, St. Pierre church and countless other Calvin legacies, finished with Setri and Akpene Nyomi for a delightful dinner together.
Sabbatical Day 60 – 12th Day of Ordinary Time – Azé (Taizé), France
Arrived in a delightful bed and breakfast in Aze. Took a look around Taize to prepare for worship the next day.
Sabbatical Day 59 – 11th Day of Ordinary Time – Paris, France
Good day walking around Paris, seeing old friend Scott Herr, Pastor of the American Church. Thoroughly battered feet by day’s end!
Sabbatical Day 58 – 10th Day of Ordinary Time – Paris, France
Arrived in Paris and shook off jetlag with a walk to the memorial to Jill’s Great Uncle Volney Wilson and other american flyers who joined the Lafayette Escadrille in WWI. Then we walked through the city of light before settling in for our first night in Europe.
