Sabbatical Day 58 – 10th Day of Ordinary Time – Paris, France
Arrived in Paris and shook off jetlag with a walk to the memorial to Jill’s Great Uncle Volney Wilson and other american flyers who joined the Lafayette Escadrille in WWI. Then we walked through the city of light before settling in for our first night in Europe.

Intercontinental travel on a snowy day in Chicago leaving for Paris.

A day of discovery into a lost branch of my family in Elgin. Seeing a church where two generations were married and a field first plowed by my Norwegian pioneer 2nd Great Grandfather.
Sabbatical Day 51 – 3rd Day of Ordinary Time – (Canby, Fortier, Granite Falls) Rochester, Minnesota
Updated – A day driving into the drifts to find the grave of my family civil war veteran and homesteads of pioneer forbears before driving toward Elgin, Minnesota and passing through Norseland.

Sabbath Day 49 – Baptism of the Lord – (Luverne) Granite Falls, Minnesota
Wonderful day of worship with my grandmother and people that remembered my father growing up. Took a photo of the church sign across the street from the home in which my father was raised.
Sabbatical Day 48 – 2nd Day after Epiphany – Luverne, Minnesota
Wintry drive through two laned snowy highways to my Grandmother, Esther. A wonderful dinner and reunion.
